IN THE STORM WITH JESUS
"And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish..."
(Luke 8:24)
The disciples have just boarded a ship with Jesus! That gave them great assurance, that harm can come their way! While in the middle of the ocean, a very violent storm began to rage. A storm at tempestuous sea can be very terrifying. "Master, master, we perish!" It was a cry of helplessness from the disciples. Why did Jesus allow the storm all? It is the test that we pass that we call testimony, isn’t it?
What does this mean to you and, other boys and girls, who are true disciples of Jesus today? One, you should be confident that the Lord is able to take care of you in every situation. Two, you must not be frightened, even if Jesus appears to be sleeping while you are facing a real threat. Three, you should know that He expects you to call on Him even though He knows what is happening. It is still your duty to ask before you receive. And lastly, you should believe that Jesus is the Master of the storm. No storm, no matter how fearsome it might look, will swallow you today. The Lord is on your side and in the boat. It is indeed a great privilege to have the Lord on your side. Praise the Lord!
Challenge: He will speak a word and the storm will cease.
Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to believe You in every situation.
