                                                 NO HOLD BACK

"And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound...." (Genesis 39:20)

Mike Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, in spite of his illustrious career in boxing, was convicted and sent to prison for sexually abusing a girl. In jail, there was no punching bag, so he practiced hard with the concrete wall. After his release from prison, he defeated his two opponents, both by knockouts. The confinement in prison did not hold him back from practicing his skill, even with the simplest aid. He knew one day, he will be free and will have to pick up the pieces again.

From our Bible reference today, Joseph was jailed by Potiphar, his Egyptian master, based on trumped up accusation from his wife. This incidence added to the many trials of Joseph, but these experiences did not hinder him from showing his leadership qualities. As teenagers, you are bound to face a lot of challenges. You must not allow circumstances to deter you from developing your potentials. Never bury your talents, showcase them anywhere, whether in the prison or palace. You cannot give any excuse for failure!

Challenge: Learn new lessons from every mistake.

Prayer: Oh God, help me to make the best of every circumstances.
